Alaska native eskimo inuit club whale bone or oosik i bought this from an estate of a family who traveled allot to alaska. I thought it was a seal or war club made from whale bone, but someone told me it was most likely made from an oosik (penile bone of a walrus). The photos od not do it justice, as it was hard to photograph. When you hold it in your hand there is no doubt what this was used for. Wack! This is a weapon made fro use. Not the tourist trade. I don't know the age, but clearly is pretty old. Without a doubt a pre-ban item. Measures 20 1/2 inches long wtih a slight curve to it. About 2 1/2 wide at the longest part. Wegiht is 1 lbs 4 oz. Carved ot fit in your hand nicely. I think this was a seal or wra club from inuit or another band of northern native americans. I am not an expert so i offer a 7 day return policy.
