Know exactly where you stand-photos may show flash reflections-up for bids is another clean & well executed original antique (pre-1935) hand woven native american indian trinket basket (w/matching lid) that sports 3 (dog-like? ) ainmal effigies as part of its design. It's unsigned & exact tribal association is unknonw but possibly is makah. With the many photos provided you can see that it's ni very well preserved & uncleaned condition. The lid surface is dusty and/or faded w/a spot on the edge suffering from a tiny bite/missing piece. Also note some small ink or paint droplets in one area on the lid-see that pic! The interior photos show its actual original colors a bit clearer. There are no odors or brekas to the bottom piece & as far as i can determine no repairs. hTe same goes for the lid except for the aforementioned edge damage. Overall it is supple & flexible-not brittle & has retained its shape well thru the years. Looks ot be finely woven reed but that's a guess. It measures 2.25 tall x 3.5 diameter at its base. I levae it to you experts to decide the finer points. All i cna say is that i know quality & craftsmanship when i see it. Please view lal of the photos below as i will never have you make a decision based on a single picture. How can you possibly know what you're ubying based on a weak one photo effort? I never force insurance costs on anyone. I recommend & always offer it as an option but will nto be responsible for damage, loss or rifling once the parcel is shipped. Pay by money order, check-shipping tyipcally within 10 business days or less. Buyer to pay within 7 days- some pics may show reflections!
