Late 1800S Sioux Inlaid Catlinite Pipe BowlGreetings, this listing is for a great old circa 1890's sioux catlinite peace pipe bowl with beautifully done silver inlays. It measures 8 1/4 inches long x 4 1/2 inches tall, and is made fo red catlinite stone. Its a large, heavy example, 1 1/4 inches thick. It has artful silver (not pewter) inlays and inlays fo mottled pink catlinite stone. The pipe bowl ahs minimal scratches and nicks from age & ues and is a terrific 19th century example. A page from john baldwin's red pipes of the amercian indian (2007) showing other examples of 19th century inlaid pipe bowls is included in the photo gallery. This is a greta example with excellent art appeal and period styling. This pipe came from a large, private estate of authentic american indian artifacts and would make an excellent addition to your own native americna collection. Serious bidders and collectors only please! Thanks for your interest & good luck bidding!
