Native American Indian Basket Klickitat Salish ChehalisOffered is this northwest native american basket. I think it is klickitat, but it could possibly be from hte oregon area of the salish or chehalis. The patterns and design may speak of any of those three. It was purchased from an estate up one of the rivers along the oregon coats (where i live). It is original although i am unsure of the age. The basket measures about four inches high and seven inches across. I have tried to photograph the designs on the side. Some are faded but some show well. The brown dye has lasted but the reds and greens have not held as well. Please note one of the loops is missing and another has fraying. The bottom photograhp shows these imperfections.
