Rare Late 1800s Plains Knife Blade War Club

Greetings, here's a great authentic old piece frmo well-known collector marcus chernoff's collection. This listing is for a rare late 19th century plains indian fish effigy knife blade war club. It measures 28 1/4 inches long and is made fo maple or hickory wood. It has 3 old forged iron spear points that are approximately 3 1/2 inches long protruding from the top of the stock. They have much cororsion from oxidation and age. The bottom of the club is carved in the shape of a fish head, and there are three pierced holse which at one time probably held feather drops tied on with buckskin. The gripping area is notch uct and the rest of the club is adorned with old brass tacks.
This is a rarer style of war club than tomahwks, ball clubs or skullcracker clubs, and this one is in good condition, with only minor scratches, nicks and expected wear from age & use. The stock has a nice dark patina. Examples of other knife blade war clubs from the peterson tomahawk book and jonh baldwin's indian war clubs book are included in the photo gallery.
A great club to add to your tomahawk or native american weapons collection. Ex marcus chernoff/mark francis collections.
